ABOUT ME
About Me:
I was born in Denver, but my creative path has taken me far—through darkrooms, studios, cities and islands. At twenty, I moved to San Francisco and dove into painting, philosophy, and anything else that sparked wonder. Later, I spent a decade on a tiny Caribbean island, where I learned the language of color, light, and how to build large canvases stretched by hand (or is it canvi?).
After twenty years away, I returned home to Denver.
Now, I live, work, build, write, cook, and create in one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods.
My materials are many: oil paint, metal leaf, photography, steel, glass, and a collection of found objects with stories to tell. Lately, I’ve been captivated by metal leaf and the magic of deconstructing old clocks and computers to make Steampunk-inspired pieces.
I’m almost always juggling two or more pieces while dreaming up many others. Along the way, I’ve written a few screenplays and continue to chip away at a novel that’s been over a decade in the writing. It’s never about the finished piece, rather it's about the journey, the joy of making something greater than the sum of it's parts.
I see beauty in nearly everything, and inspiration is a constant companion. I love what I do, and I live for the creative process.
Art is not just what I make—it’s how I move through the world.
"Art is never finished, only abandoned." Leonardo da Vinci
